5KTQ Center Driveshaft Support

Does it sound like somebody's under the car knocking to get in? I had the
same and it was definitely a destroyed driver's side trans mount. I changed
it and the problem went away. btw my center carrier looks awful and doesn't
give that symptom. good luck.

<I've noticed a clunking under hard acceleration in first gear that
<vibrates the floor/seat area. It is rhythmic like a driveshaft would be.
<Going underneath I found that the driver side trans mount was slightly
<loose, but I'm really questioning the center driveshaft bearing. Should
<there be any play in that at all? I can grab the driveshaft and move it
<probably 1/4" in either direction (up/down and side/side). Also, I've
<heard of a better/cheaper replacement from another VW/audi application.
