anyone else breaking a lot of front springs?

Hi Stephane;

Are your springs rusty? A front spring on my old '86 5ktq broke a chunk off
the bottom coil. I inspected the broken spring and found a rust pit had
initiated a stress crack. If you are using rusty springs from a wreck, they
could all have a similar problem.

Just this morning the driver side front coil spring on my 86 5ktq snapped
the top coil off.  This is the 3rd time this happened to me in 3 years.
What the hell is going on?  Car is pretty much stock - brakes, wheels,
proper size tires, no fancy sway or strut bars.  When the first one broke, I
got a pair of them from an auto wrecker and I am sure they came off a 5kt
(no q), but they told me that they were interchangeable.

I know a couple listers have posted in the past about broken springs, but
anyone else with so many? and no, I do not drive like a maniac, or offroad
or anything like that.
