On the 80/90 cars you don't need to pull anything besides the foam cover on
the nuts, access through the trunk. 22mm short chrome socket on a footlong
3/8 ratchet will do the trick. I don't usually need to hold the strut shaft
itself, but if you weren't saving them, Visegrips on the shaft through the
spring coils will do just fine.
