1st off, yes they're good, I've got one and like it...

2 things to bear in mind... (other than cost of course)

1) Display points to the left, so in RHD cars they point away from you...
can still see it, but not as clearly (great from the passenger seat though...!)

2) Valentine won't ship outside US and there are no dealers outside the US.
Only option is 'grey market' and that adds significant cost to the unit.
(Unless a fellow lister will receive and re-direct it to you...)

bi-directional which is pretty cool, I actually had it attached to the rear window of a 350Z I was
test driving last night, as the stretchy cord wouldn't reach the front window, and the ciggy lighter
was behind the front seats...
quite cool to be able to check the detector in the rear view mirror..!

anyway, just a couple of points to consider... still if you can afford one, get it, they're good...
