The author of that site clearly states his hypothesis in the beginning: a
filter with lower differential pressure is providing a worse filtration
than a filter with a high differential pressure.
I don't think this hypothesis is true. A good filter will provide
filtration with the lowest possible differential pressure. Simply put - you
dump contaminants of different sizes into the oil and thereby measure the
smallest contaminant the filter can filter out while keeping an eye on the
differential pressure (pressure drop across the filter). The filter which
traps the most, smallest particles over its life span, while maintaining a
low diff pressure wins.
Another way to contest his hypotheses is that a totally clogged up filter
will have max diff pressure. 40psi in, 0 psi out. Such a filter will get
the highest score on his system...
