AWD question

I would think the answer to this depends on the lifestyle and weather
environment of the prospective owner. For me in Ontario, Canada, it's a
no brainer especially after yesterday's sleet storm and pushing my son
out of the driveway in his FWD Ford Tempo. The AWD Audi was able to
drive in and out, turn around, go down to pick up a neighbour with an
unplowed driveway, etc., with no loss of control or spinning wheels.

But if your friend is in an area of the continent that never sees snow,
why pay the extra for AWD?

Regards
George
