somtimes she starts, or not

Last week, leaving work, I tried to start the 1990
100q, and nothing. I have voltage, but no cranking.
I got a ride home, got a hammer, hit the starter and
it fired. I kept the hammer in my car in case it
happened again, and I also ordered a rebuilt starter
from TPC. A few days later she would not turn over,
not even with the hammer persuasion, so I had some
friends help jump it. I kept it home untill the
starter arrived. When it did arrive to "test the
system" to make sure it was not a loose wire or
something like that I turned the key, and she fired.
Anyway I changed the starter. Worked great for a few
days, until I went to my bank during lunch, and she
would not restart. Towed it home, got in my truck and
went to work, when I got home, she fired.
The only connection I have with all the times she
would not start, is heat. Either long highway runs,
or over 80F outside. Is there any problem you all
have seen that is temp. related? I can't figure out
how to trouble shoot something that works, unless I
can catch it when it doesn't work, but it seems at
home it always works, and somewhere else it doesn't.
Was wondering if there are any pointers out there as
to where to look for what? Thanks for the help.
Pasquale
