relayed headlights

I'm looking at Huw's diagram here:
http://www.humanspeakers.com/audi/headlight-simple.htm
and it shows the relay grounds (85) as being grounded to the chassis.
Is there any down side to grounding these back to the original headlight
grounds in the factory harness?  It seems like only a minimal amount of
current could be flowing though the triggers anyways...
