Is there a thermo-time switch in '90 80 A3 eng.?

I think you're referring to the "3A" engine (4 cylinder 2.0)?  I don't
think there is a thermo-time switch on these.

Rather than blindly replacing parts, why not go through the diagnostic
procedures in the Bentley to track down a possible culprit to address
your cold start problem?
