Clutchy weirdness, '85 90 (4k)

This sounds exactly like the clutch in my Jetta. I found that the pedal
wasn't coming up because there wasn't enough pressure on it to get it
past the center point of the 'over center' pedal spring. On the 5000 a
similiar condition exists when the hydraulic system (master and slave)
clutch cylinders need bleeding.
