Symptoms of failing fuel press accumulator?

(From fading memory of aging retired technician):
For that system, the accumulator is basically a big diaphragm supported by
a spring. The pressure of the system is mostly maintained by check valves
in a couple of locations, and the accumulator is there to make up for
seepage and changes in temp, etc. The big symptom indicating an accumulator
failure is fuel leakage at the accumulator. Otherwise you look for pressure
loses elsewhere.
