My beloved 90 A90Q 20V has progressively become a smoker, blue in colour,
dramatic with a heavy foot.
The car has 100k miles and about 30k miles ago required a new lower engine
block because of a temporary oil starvation. It was rebuilt by the local
Audi dealer and has worked beautifully until I noticed the change in its
smoke increasing over the past 3 months. It's consuming about a quart of
oil every 2 weeks.
I left the expensive care of Audi dealers about 2 years ago. What can I do
to diagnose and estimate the repair costs? My new mechanic told me that
motor oil is still cheap to replace...but my wife who drives the car, does
not appreciate the attention she gets when people change lanes to not stay
behind her. Otherwise the car is pristine and working well.
Help!
