Check the bellows boot on the end opposite the gear
shaft. If it's light and fluffy and moves around
easily, it's not leaking there. If it is squishy and
doesn't move easily, it's no good. I and others tried
resealing these, but without a special tool, you cut
that seal at the bottom of the tube and it leaks into
the boot. BTDT. Changing the rack itself is fairly
straight forward and covered ad nauseum, but you MUST
flush the fluid. How anal you decide to get is open
for discussion. At minimum remove the tank and it's
mesh filter and throughly clean and refill with new
Pento.
