Just curious: Has anyone converted a V8 to a 5cyl MC Engine?

Jim Hi,
If you are considering a diesel engine swap for your Dorf pickup may I also
propose you have a look at the 2.8 Powerstroke engine?
This is made in Brazil by a company which is actually owned by Ford.
This engine started its life as the 200Tdi Land Rover one (2.495 cc,
intercooled turbo diesel, four cylinder, two valves per cylinder, 111 bhp.)
Then it was upgraded by Land Rover to the 300Tdi (same configuration, torque
and hp output but a bit more silent and a bit more thirsty)
Then the engine production rights were sold to this Brazilian, Ford owned,
company who have upgraded it to 2.800cc, fitted a variable geometry
turbocharger (they also offer a standard turbo with wastegate one which
develops less torque and lower hp, both at higher rpm) and have also
modified several engine components with positive results on oil dripping
from the rear crankshaft seal, less vibration and noise and better fuel
consumption and exhaust particles and gazes.
If you wish further information about these engines and the name of person
who can sell you one please let me know.
Take care
Pantelis (owner of two diesel engined Landies)
