A6 (2.7t-4.2 ) questions

Gee - that would mean that a semi would eat tires like crazy!
Stock tire size on a 4.2 is a bit larger 255 I think. You'll have
slightly more friction. If you were to compare the suspension of a 4.2
to a sport suspension of a 2.7 it would probably be a little softer -
meaning a slightly higher % of time the suspension might cause more
tire wear due to 'out of alignment' time in normal driving.
The reality though is if the suspension is aligned right and the tires
rotated correctly the wear should be real close to the same. The overall
weight difference between the two is not much, depending on 2.7 options...

It will just be a matter of finding the right model and right price. However I would not be surprised if I end up with the 4.2 just because there is one available at a good price and I have no car right now.

He said the 4.2's tend to wear out front tires more (than the 2.7t) from scrubbing because the car is heavier. This makes no sense to me. The 4.2 is a alloy block. It should be lighter or about the same as the 2.7t? Can anyone verify the dealers comments?
