<<Did the x,000 mile filter change interval really
come up at a moment's notice? Like you changed
the oil in the morning, left the house, and surprise,
surprise, later that afternoon realized it was time
to change the oil again?>>

What are you, his mom?

Jeez guys give the guy some slack....I bet he can figure out on his own that
it would have been better if he'd had a filter on hand, don't you think?
Finger-shaking and repeadedly saying "you should have had one in advance"
does not address his question in any way.

When I bought my last car, it had a Mobile 1 filter on it and the mileage
sticker on the windshield indicated that it had been in place for approx.
2700 miles. When I replaced it, it wasn't collapsed, and appeared to be in
proper functioning condition.

I know that this is hardly a representative sample, but there ya go.
