You're probably not driving in -40 weather, Andrew :o). It only seems to
happen below -30; I'd guess at that temp the engine bay is below freezing
with all the airflow through that big S4 rad!

Had another problem last winter; on the really cold days I had to slow down
to keep the engine temperatures down - I think my 60% coolant/40% water mix
was slushing up in the rad. Have to go with a higher mix this year I guess -
or hope for warmer winters.

Wow, what goes around comes around!

I used to have this problem with my old Rabbits, had totally forgotten
that I always used to carry a can of WD-40 in the car!

Never had this on any of my Audis though....
