digicam opinions needed - SMAC

I have a Minolta S404 and have had good luck with it.  It has been supplanted by the S414, which is mostly the same.  It is a 4-Mega-pixel and 4X Zoom camera.  Biggest problem for this camera (and many other digicams) is low-light performance.  For some reason there are isues with the autofocus systems dealing with low light situations.  The Minolta is attractive because it is a 4 Megapixel camera with a good lense a competetive price.
