1987 5KCSTQ, fuel pump hints requested

Well you could try jumping it right off of a battery. Go in the trunk with a
charged battery and 2 test leads, and unplug the wires fron the sending
unit/tank top. Then hook the test leads to the battery and to the pump and
'bump' it back and forth by cliping the test leads onto the proper pins for
the pump, then hook up the test lead ground to the battery ground and tap
the pos test lead on the battery positive. Tap it like 10 times, then
reverse the wires (pump ground to bat pos) and tap it a few times. If the
pump is seised this should free it up after a little while. If it doesnt
then you'll have to pull the pump out of the tank and fill every orafice
with your favorite penatrating oil (I like PB Blaster, its a billion times
better the WD-40) and repeat the bumping process.
I did this on the pump in my first '86 5ktq that wouldnt start when I bought
it, though with the pump out of the tank and it worked perfectly.
