Kevin,
I have done this operation several times on my own cars and a few customer
cars.
The front trim is the most difficult but hopefully these hints should help a
little.
One thing to remember all the dash wood trim is held in place in the back of
the dash
by clips exactly like the ones that are found on the doors STAR LIKE LOCKING
CLIPS.
these clips can be loosened by using a pair or sharp needle nose pliers
which slip under the clips.
to get access to the clips you can do this without removing the dash at all.
You will have to remove the knee protection cover under the steering wheel
the access the left side.
for the right side you might have to remove the glove box.
The exact number of these clips I do not recall, but I think it was around 3
for the left side and about 6
for the right.
after the clips come the spring like hooks inside the vents..
Yes the vents have a securing clip as well that holds the trim in place.
The hooks are the whole thing...ok to access these you will have to go
behind the dash again.
you will see a wire like hook wrapped around the vent ONLY the end vents by
the doors.
these can be pushed back or pried back..
Once this is done you might see the spring hooks I mentioned..all you need
is as pair of pliers
to help pull the hook from its place ...you will see what I mean once you
see it.
If you have any troubles let me know back, and good luck.
