Still think it's more of a coincidence, with influences. Aero shapes are
pretty well
dictated by science, not stylists. Did Audi influence the design of the
Taurus, after
the car was already started on the boards? Probably. But a direct copy?
Rather
doubt it. Consider the front end styling of either the Taurus or Sable.
Both are
bottom breathers (actually more efficient in terms of lift and cooling,
low sitting
high pressure air is relieved through the radiator slightly reducing
lift, vs. Audi
with less high pressure air that would aid downforce somewhat relieved
through
our rather inefficient radiators. But the overall shape of all three cars
is similar,
blinded by science. As for marketing, I'm sure Ford DID appreciate the
Audi
association with their new car though.
