hi 2 all,
yesterday I began to assemble my "new" old engine ;)
finaly I decide to put in this 5 cyl 2.2, 5 pistons from VW 1.8. I think it=
would be good. I took new 2-nd overbore (81.5mm) Kolbensmidt pistons for a=
bout $67/ea. (not bad ;)) The only difference I can figure is in 3-rd pisto=
n ring.. realy not a big difference. so.. pistons in place, crancksaft in p=
lace ad tighten (65 NM on main cap bolts - is that right?).. I have some ba=
d fealing about connection rod on 1-st cylinder.. one of its nuts good tigh=
ten to 50NM, but the other tighten to about 48, and when I try to put littl=
e bit more force - nothing happen - can't get this 50NM :(
is this too bad? Is it possible to strip bolt strip if i try to get this 50=
NM?
