Ok, So:

yes it will take a trip to the dealer (figured so)
yes it will stay deactivated (hoped so)
yes I will need to unlock it (can the dealer do this? I don't ahve the code)

Right?

I can't do VAG-com, I don't own an Audi.. :)  Yes yes, I know, I suck.. but
hey, I like the car I have, and it WILL have and Audi stereo in it (assuming
it fits).

Anyone in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area feeling helpful with a copy of
VAG-com and a guinea pig car (anything that will work with a Symphony II 6
disc + tape) we can put the stereo in to deactivate it?  I'd be most appreciative!
