welding to the turbo downpipe

Hey All

I am about to start making my new 3" exhaust system. DOes anyone out there
know what the downpipe is made of as I need to cut the thing up and weld
new parts onto it.

I think it is probably 304 Stainless, but that is only a guess. If anyone
out there has done this, what grade of wire did you use? will 308L be OK?

Also I am trying to source some weld on 3 bolt 3"  Stainless flanges,
anyone got a good fast sourece for them?

My intention is to cut the downpipe below the wastegate, flare the pipe
and weld on a 3"flange. from there I will go round the corner and weld in
the 3" IDx6" stainless flex. on the back of that goes the 3"ID Stainless
cat with a 3"stainless flange on the back. From there back will all be
aluminized mild steel.
