In Europe, there are no hitch classes. There is a limit to the amount of 
weight you can put onto the hitch directly (as in what pushes straight onto 
the hitch) and there is a limit to what the car is allowed to pull. As for 
the type 89 quattro, it's allowed to tow more than its own weight here. No 
problems with large trailers, so I assume the bike trailer should be simple.
