This is a very interesting point that I hadn't heard of before.
My 90Q has an odd habit of sometimes turning into a dead dog in second
gear after a warm start and take-off. It then comes back quite soon,
but it is a little irritating, especially since I have replaced just
about anything I thought could affect it.
Also, since I was getting no check engine light, it didn't make sense
for it to a "full retard" situation due to engine knock.
Perhaps it's time to hook up my little harness and re-examine my
potentiometer's operation under different conditions...
