Don't do that!
I generally block the wheels and put in gear (3'rd gear good).
A4 may be different than 4k/5k etc, but I don't see why.

[Folks,
Gotta a question. Finally got around to doing my t-belt and water pump on my A4 1.8tq. I have taken the nose of the car off, took off all the belts and removed the water pump. A friend suggested changing the crank and camshaft seals as well. Question is, how do I loosen the crank bolt to get at the seal. He suggested the old "jamming the screwdriver in the flywheel" trick. This sounds to risky to me.
Any other ideas? Can I rent a crank locking tool from Zelenda or any other source?
Thanks
mohammed
