I was going to remove the ash tray (I use it for the same thing) and put 
a small instrument panel in its place.  I was thinking an oil pressure 
guage and a spot for something else in the furture.  Obvivously it can't 
be something you would need to keep a close eye on while driving hard as 
the shifter blocks it.
