Sharing tools WAS: torque wrenches

I suggested it quite a while ago but it is worth repeating as I notice
there are a lot of new listers....
I think that cost sharing for major tools is an excellent idea.
Locally, myself and Tihol generally go 50/50 on things like spring
compresser, vacuum pump, etc. This halves our cost on something that we
both will need at some point.
For listers in bigger cities, there could be huge savings. Imagine
getting
Sidebar...listening to the TV just now, Audi was one of the answers on
Jeopardy....
Anyway, imagine getting 5 or 6 listers to kick in for an expensive tool
that you only use once in a while. What are the chances that 2 or more
would need it at the same time. For that matter if they are listers,
they would probably get together and help each other out anyway, right?
