Vic,
Its not just you. The later 12v motors seem much better than
earlier versions. My Dads 1997 A6 with the 12v V6 has 130k
miles. NEver an oil leak, never any problems with the car.
Wait, ONE problem. Failed brake light switch. Thats IT,
nothing else other than routine maint, brake pad changes, etc.
also, the later 12v's had a lighter drivetrain I think whihc
makes them rev better.
