quattro Digest, Vol 2, Issue 83 - 40K 4KQ

The Bosch Pilots are period correct as the factory dealer installed
optional fogs on the 4KQ. BTW, they suck as fogs. I installed
Hella 171's on my 4KQ, "light years" ahead in terms of pattern.
Only fault compared to the Pilots, the covers didn't pivot, instead
they had to be removed.

Car looks awfully clean, however, as one lister noted, the area near
the driver's footwell looks worn, and the pedals look almost as worn
as my now departed '84 4KQ when I sold it at 180K miles.

As for the non-stock (US anyway) side skirts, they actually appear
to be body colored, with some black trim on the upper surface that
would be most likely rubbed with shoes or the like. So they are trimmed
differently than even the type 85 rocker trim, although they look like
type 85 trim. Other than that, it does look quite stock. BTW, in '84
the only interior color for cloth Q's as far as I know was brown. It's
actually a lot darker brown than in the photos, so it doesn't look as
bad a color as in the photos. Either that, or the interior of my 4KQ
was just dirty.
