Yeah, but the market has changed dramatically in the past few years.
Horsepower figures of new cars have increased dramatically.  What used
to be "acceptable performance" just a few years ago is now a joke in
most consumers' eye.  200hp used to be an impressive figure, but today
it's merely ho-hum.

The lowest horsepower Audi today in the US market is the A4 1.8T at 170hp,
and that's more than the "top of the line" 1986 5000S turbo quattro.
The bottom of the line 4000S FWD in 1986 had only 102hp, and that figure
might be passable on a $12K Kia or Daewoo, but certainly not on an Audi.
