FSI Direct injection (gas) engine and TDIs

I consider myself reasonably well read on automotive matters. I have
never heard of an issue with high sulfer content in gasoline. The IS a
problem with high sulfer content in diesel fuel. That's the 'cited'
reason for the lack of newer TDIs in the US.
If it just weren't so damn ugly I would be in the market for one of the
new Sprinter vans by Mercedes (imported by IH and Dodge) - gotta love
that capacity AND 30+mpg. Its running a 2.5L TDI. C&D loaded a Caterham
in the back in their test...
The wife about had a conniption when I showed her one. But at $29K to
36K and a great towing capacity its damn hard to beat
Its great to see that both Airstream and Westphalia are using the
chassis for new motorhome designs. The Airstream model is rated at
22mpg, although I'm not thrilled with the layout. I'm waiting on the
Westphalia design. Winnebago is stopping the use of the VR6 Eurovan
chassis for the Rialta. I am hoping they shift over to this one.
