and the mirror glass pops out. use an L-shaped hook to gently pry the glass 
out if you need to get to the motors.

<<You should not have to touch the door liner. The mirror is removed by
twisting the housing on its base 90 degrees. You can then access 2 allen
screws, remove them and the mirror comes away, leaving only the electrical
plug which comes out far enough to be disconnected from the outside.>>
