It certainly would be a poor move.  To the use of synthetic,
I'd add the following:  change the original oil and filter at
500 miles (if you aren't there yet) to flush out the little metal
bits that new engines produce. Refill with dino. Change the
oil and filter again at 1000 miles, and again at 3000 (this may
be overkill, but you want to keep it, so err on the side of too
many oil changes). Then switch to synthetic. I don't know
what Audi recommends, but most engines need to be broken
in, and dino oil seems to help that process.  I'm sure you'll
hear other opinions on this; this one is mine.
