Fuel Tank venting - '83 Ur Q

Ben,

If memory serves, the vent hose, with the little gravity valve inline,
connects to a 90 degree hose barb that welded to the tank itself, not
attached to the sender. I'm pretty sure there were no hoses coming out of
the sender.

I may be missing the vent line to my fuel tank.  Is this supposed to be
attached to the top of the fuel sending unit?  There is a fitting there that
seems to have been crimped or bent over.  I am chasing a fuel smell, and
have not found any leaks so far.

Diagram in Bently is not clear, and I see no separate line going into the
fuel tank.
