No relationship to any Audi V8 engine here. That's Porsche's own.

I don't think it's related to the Audi V8 at all. I am under the
impression that this is an all-new V8 from Porsche. Not 100% sure though.

Yes, it's an evolution of the original Audi V8.

Actually, the 924's I4 is an Audi design, but Audi never used that
same engine in its own models (I understand that its forerunner is
the one from the 100LS. That engine is does not have the same bore
spacing as the VW I4). The 944's 4-cyl engine is basically half
the Porsche V8.

Yes, the Audi V6 has similar architecture in general to the V8
(90 deg V, same bore spacing, etc), which is again similar to two
VW I4s. However, not many large parts interchange.
