Forward engine oil leak

Hi Gang, sort of new to this list. My current project is putting a used
engine in a 85 4KQ everything going well, just took it for a spin around the
block,
I currently have a strong drip of engine oil that runs down the forward most
groove between the oil pan and the engine block and drips off that lower
block casting block (with the large hole in it) on the forward passenger
side of the engine. It runs down that groove between the oil pan and the
engine block because the engine it tilted that way... This is right below
the lowest part of the cam belt covers.
I am suspecting that I should have changed the forward crank seal behind the
large lower crank and V-belt pulley. I would be grateful if someone could
confirm or deny my suspicions!
Thanks
David E.
