Hmmmm, tall order.
The computer controls all the flaps for directing the air. The control is
done via solenoid operated vacuum valves. I think there are 4 or 5.
I think you can control the heater flap manually. That is cable controlled
via a motor and crank. You can adapt a manual lever to control the cable
directly for heat.
Some of the flaps are controlled by temperature as well as switch position.
"Economy" will blow out the defrost or the front vents, depending on inside
temperature.
Given enough time, I suppose you can rewire the climate control to cut out
the auto control and just give you basic flap positions. And the blower
motor controls may have to be adapted also. Blower motor wont come on until
water gets hot enough. And blower motor has variable speeds . .other than
the low and high. You would have to bypass some of these controls also.
Sounds like a lot of work to me. Why not just pick up a climate control in
the junkyard if yours does not work?
