Tranny problems?

Hi Y'all,

I finally found time to do some more analysis on my shifting problem with
my '95 S6.  I am convinced that the problem is with the shift linkage
rather than anything internal to the tranny.  However, without a good lift
and, most likely, equipment to drop the tranny, I see no ready way for me
to effect repairs on my own.  I plan to take the care to my local (65 miles
one way) stealer for repairs.  Unless, that is, I can get ahold of my
favorite wrench or someone can provide a better means.

Can someone explain - just how did our oil get under Iraq's sand in the
first place?
