Depends upon what you mean by non-operational.  If the "trigger" will move
with resistance, I've found I could lube it up (spray lube into the handle
body around the trigger and onto the innards through the grommet hole in
the edge of the door, as well as everywhere inside the latching mechanism)
and get it working again.  If the trigger just flops, something has broken
in the linkage.
