2142 and 2144

Hi list,

First time out in my car (uk 1989 100 tq MC2) for 2 months this morning
after a few (!) jobs that I needed to do on it (none engine/fuel/ignition
related) and it started feeling quite sluggish, pulled the codes on
returning and it chucked out 2142 and 2144, in that order, meaning the
sensor on cylinders 1 and 2 is faulty and possibly the one on 3,4,5 too.
Anyone out there know if, after replacing the first sensor (after checking
out the wiring and seating of that sensor are alright first) the code for
the second is likely to disappear? Or, if both codes are stored, and the
wiring+seating of both sensors is good, then is it likely that both
sensors are faulty? My dealer won't have either in stock (ok, they
*might* but if they do I'll eat my air con compressor) so I'll have to
order them, I'd just like to know how likely it is both sensors are bad?
If I order the first one and then need the other it'll just end up taking
ages so if they are both highly likely to be bad then I'll order them at
the same time.

Still, after 2 months off the road, it did feel great to be back in the
beast again. And when the knock sensor problem is sorted I intend to
investigate the limits of the new RE720's thoroughly:)

Cheers in advance,

Graham,

1989 100 tq
