I'd cast a vote with Peter's assessment. I've seen several clutches fail due
to pressure plate fatigue/age yet have plenty of life left in the clutch
disc itself. Think of it as a time wearing part as well as a mileage issue.
Note all the listers that have reported butter-like pedal effort after a
clutch R&R.
