Alternator weirdness on 91 80Q

Doing some doughnuts I got all crazy with it and then the alternator started
malfunctioning, producing no power.



Went back to Jim's and he hair-drier'd it and it didn't work, so we put the
alternator from the 90Q in it, same thing, hooked up wire directly from
alternator to positive lead on battery, still no voltage.



But, on the way home, it started working intermittently but now 20 miles
later it hasn't stopped working?



Also note my entire car, underbody and above, were CAKED in snow, we're
talking you couldn't even see the A/C compressor pulley anymore



When it seemed to be working right again, I went to Autozone, got 13.6 volts
and 106amps, never fell below 30 amps under full load, WTF?
