Sounds like my car is going to be repaired after all, and it's going to
be done properly. :)
I got paid out by the insurance, and I also managed to make a deal with
the owner of the body shop to get my entire car painted. On top of the
amount the insurance company paid me I also supply 2 used doors, and I
traded some work for the missing amount. This way everybody's happy. (He
has a cabin at a ski hill, that I am doing some design work and 3D
computer imaging on)
I am confident that it's going to be done right, since it's a premium
body shop and they mostly work on expensive/collector cars. In fact I am
sure it's going to be better than the original paint, since I am getting
base and clear coat Glassurit, while the original red had no clear coat
on it, and had already cracked on the hood and trunk lid. They also
strip down most of the car to get it done right, and since they have
repair the passenger side quarter panel anyway, I have them roll both
sides so I can use bigger tires. :)
I keep you all posted how it turns out.
Cheers,
Zsolt
