NAC Wanted: Auto Transmission for 90 VW Passat

Hi all I have a 90 VW Passat with a bad auto tranny.  Anybody got one for
they would like to part with for say, 200 bucks?  Tranny code APE.  Or
possibly just the valve body assy.?  The local bone-yard wants 1200.00 for a
used one but since these trannys have a questionable reliability record that
seems like too much.
