E-bay 4kq: Good news, ugly discovery, one minor q...

Sounds reasonable, and I'm undoubtedly due, but why would pulling the
upright cause failure?  It was fine before.  Also, when I bounce the car in
the garage I can see no motion at the bearing but the strut shaft goes up
and down...  Still think it's just that?
