re. o2 sensor

Perhaps they are both marginally out of spec.
On the same car I was referring to, I had the poor running during
warmup symptoms resolved by several different things. The first time
it was the temp sender. Replacement pretty much resolved the problem
it experienced during warmup.
A month later the problem recurred by exhibiting the same type of poor
running, only now it happened when water/snow hit the O2 sensor after
it was hot, or so it seems. Disconnecting the O2 sensor removed the
symptoms. I assume the oxy sensor is shot, although sometimes it works
fine, like in dry weather.
I guess I'll find out for sure after I replace it, but the car has been
back and forth to D.C. twice in during and after the storm, with no
poor running. I had already been over the car, and the O2 sensor is of
the few things I did not address.
Anyway, I wanted to post my finding, as these syptoms can be caused by
many things it seems, and now I add the oxy sensor to the list.
BTW, if by water sensor you mean the f.i. temp sender which is located
on the bottom of the cooling neck on CIS-E cars, then that has always
killed any engine when disconnected. I'm talking about the 3 or 4
4kq's I've had around for the last year.
On the 5kt's I forget what happens when the comparable multi-function
temp sendor is disconnected.
