More than that, if the suspension is designed to
compress N inches from rest and the shock is N+2
inches high, you will eventually break things when you
bottom out with 2" less travel than the rest of the
suspension is designed to allow for.
BTDT. Not on an Audi, but believe me, it gives you
the never-to-be-forgotten horrors to look at your
A-arms and see cracks radiating out from where the
shock bolts on.
Got me to rebuild my front end, though...
