NO idle

Looking for possible causes for no idle.  MC-2 engine.
 Runs well while running.  Starts fine first time, hot
or cold.  Throttle must be immediately applied and
modulated.  If throttle is released, car immediately
dies, hot or cold.  If it dies, 5-15 minutes til
restart.  No difference with ISV plugged in or not.

When this happened to me, I found that it was a very dirty clogged air
filter element, hence the need to operate the throttle (to allow more air
to be sucked in).
